Royalties are calculated by multiplying the sale price of each print product by the number of copies sold and then by the creator's royalty rate (Japan: 30%, Taiwan: 20%). They are tallied monthly, based on total product sales (sale price × number of copies sold).
Example: If 100 L-size prints are sold in Japan and 50 in Taiwan
Japan
Total sales: 30,000 JPY (300 JPY x 100 prints)
Royalties: 9,000 JPY (30,000 JPY x 30%)
Taiwan
Total sales: 2,500 TWD (50 TWD x 50 prints)
Royalties: 500 TWD (2,500 TWD x 20%)
At an exchange rate of 1 TWD = 5.03
JPY, 500 TWD = 2,515 JPY
Total
9,000 JPY (Japan royalties) + 2,515 JPY (Taiwan royalties)
= 11,515 JPY
